Friends of Johnson County Library is a member-supported nonprofit organization promoting community awareness and participation in library services. We serve as library advocates, raise supplemental funds, and promote literacy and lifelong learning.

Friends Pop-Up Book Sales
Find great deals on gently-used books! Fantastic quality and popular titles every Thursday, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, and Saturdays, 11:30 am – 5:00 pm.
The funds we raise from your book purchases and your membership support library collection development, Summer Reading, Incarcerated Services, staff education, and much more.

Book Donations
Do you have gently used books to donate to the Friends?
We hold Drive-up Donation Events every Saturday (except during inclement weather).
Volunteers will be available to accept your donations on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Friends Headquarters – 8279 Melrose Dr., Lenexa, KS 66214.
Car Donations
Selling a car is good, but donating a car is better! We handle the pick-up, sale, and paperwork all for free. Plus, vehicle donations are tax-deductible. We accept cars, trucks, boats, RVs, and more and provide free pick-up.

Even books that aren`t suitable for resale are given new life when donated to the Friends! These books were sorted to be recycled and claimed by a local teacher so that her students could create folded-page art. 🥰
These pages were folded into the shapes of a heart, a dog, the Batman symbol, and an elephant!
